GREEN, creative costumes made an appearance at Lambton High School yesterday when students put on their sustainability message caps for the school’s annual Green Day.

This year’s theme was Water Water Everywhere, Only If We Share, coinciding with the United Nations International Year of Water Co-operation.

The school-wide event featured performances and projects by the students.

“It’s our one big day that we do something that everyone is involved in,” Lambton High School sustainability co-ordinator Caroline Hayden said.

At the morning concert, music and drama students presented sustainable message performances they had worked on over the school term.

Students competed in a green-themed cupcake competition for a prize from the $500 worth of vouchers donated by local businesses.

The student representative council and prefects organised and operated the day’s activities.

Money raised will go towards sustainable school grounds projects.
